Rhona Stainthorp, University of Reading, short-bioOver the last 40 years, she has worked in a number of academic departments in UK universities teaching teachers, and speech and language therapists from undergraduate to Ph.D. level about the development of literacy. She has also been extensively involved in providing continuing professional development across the UK. She has advised the UK as well as other Governments (e.g., Vietnam, Malaysia) on aspects of the development and teaching of reading and writing. Her research focuses on the development of literacy. It includes studies of reading, writing and spelling skills in English and other orthographies, precocious reading ability, and children with literacy difficulties. She is currently investigating the impact of phonics teaching in England on the develop of spelling skills. Stephanie Gottwald, Tufts University, short-bioStephanie Gottwald, Ph.D. is the Co-Founder and Director of Content at Curious Learning, a non-profit that has created an open source platform solution to deliver and monitor education apps in communities with limited resources. At Curious Learning, she oversees the creation and deployment of literacy and cognitive assessment and learning apps. Stephanie also serves as the Assistant Director of the Center for Reading and Language Research at Tufts University where she directs research into the identification and intervention of dyslexia. Her research interests include the interaction between the acquisition of spoken and written languages and technological tools for language and literacy instruction. Stephanie is the co-author with Dr. Maryanne Wolf of the newly released Tales of Literacy for the 21st Century: The Literary Agenda. Heikki Lyytinen, emeritus professor of Developmental Neuropsychology and now UNESCO Chair on Inclusive Literacy Learning for All (2015-2019; https://agoracenter.jyu.fi/projects/unesco-chair), University of Jyväskylä, Finland, also associated with the Niilo Mäki Institute, Jyväskylä, Finland. PI of the Jyväskylä Longitudinal study of Dyslexia (JLD, 1996-) and GraphoWorld Initiative & projects (see graphogame.info). >300 scientific publications.
